As a Cash Application Specialist within the Senior Health Revenue Cycle team at Amazon One Medical, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of insurance payments and patient accounts. Key Responsibilities

As a Cash Application Specialist, you will:

  • Post Insurance Payments: Ensure insurance payments are accurately posted to the correct patient accounts by the monthly close.
  • Reconcile Payments: Perform reconciliation of monies received, balancing payments posted to the bank account, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Process Refunds: Investigate and process insurance and patient refunds, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Manage Lockbox Payments: Handle lockbox-related payment processing and bank account reconciliation.
  • Utilize Technology: Use electronic resources, insurance portals, and scanned paper documents to perform reconciliation duties.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless revenue cycle operations.

What You Will NOT Be Doing

  • Cold Calling: This role focuses on financial reconciliation, not sales or outreach.
  • Traditional Accounting: While financial accuracy is key, this role is specific to healthcare revenue cycle management.

Requirements and Skills

To excel in this role, you’ll need:

Education and Experience:

  • 2+ years of experience in a primary healthcare setting.
  • 2+ years of experience in insurance accounts receivables or cash posting.
  • Experience with Medicare/Medicare Advantage is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in using practice management systems and insurance portals.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
